Local Small Business Awards - deadline looming ...
Deadline nears for Council's Awards - any good examples?
As the deadline for entries for this year's Federation of Small Business (FSB) Small Business Friendly Awards looms, FSB Officers are asking for examples of good service from Councils to help with the judging process. The awards are given to local councils to recognise initiatives that help, support and encourage local business. Local Councils across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight have until 27 August to submit their entries.
Chairman of the Wessex Region, Ken Moon, said: "After last year's inaugural awards we are hoping for another set of good quality entries. Judging was very difficult, so examples of good service would help us decide the winners. Local councils often get criticised but we know through our own experiences that some go out of the way to help businesses in their areas and we think it apt to reward this."
There are three categories where a trophy is up for grabs.
Best Small Business Friendly Procurement Policy
Best Small Business Friendly Programme or Campaign
Best All Round Small Business Friendliness
The Councils have until 27 August to submit their entries and the winners will be announced in late September. Anyone wishing to suggest an area where their local authority has helped their business should email
